CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our commitment to our community

Over the past 30 years it has been a privilege to help our clients buy and sell properties across Gloucestershire. Every day we see first-hand the excitement of first time buyers getting their foot on the ladder, aspiring landlords looking to take their portfolio to the next level, or couples looking to downsize after many years in the family home. From Tewkesbury to Tredworth, Nailsworth to Norton, or Cinderford to Charlton Kings there is not a part of Gloucestershire we haven’t helped people buy or sell property.

Owning your own home is a significant moment in any one’s life. The satisfaction, the security and the peace of mind of owning a front door represents a significant part to feeling content. We also believe that being active, engaged, and a part of your local community is another major element for a happy lifestyle.

As passionate as we are about house moving in Gloucestershire, the same can be said for local sport. Most of us at Dee & Griffin are born and bred in Gloucestershire, and our staff contains players from across a number of sports teams across the Gloucestershire districts. Many of the staff have children coming through various junior age groups.

Due to these passions Dee & Griffin Solicitors are committed to changing the landscape of local sporting opportunities. We are backing the Chamwell Centre re-development at Milestones School to dramatically improve the facilities available for disabled children and the wider community of Gloucestershire.

It is our pledge to:

– Offer pro-bono legal advice and support to further the project.
– Give each staff member one day out of the office to work at the school to complete administrative and fundraising duties.
– Raise funds by our staff competing and sponsoring sporting competitions.
– Raise funds by attending charitable dinners and events.

We have decided to take a different approach from regular fund raising efforts. We believe that donating staff and time to the cause will be far more effective than raising lump sums of money. Our corporate social responsibility program in partnership with Chamwell Centre, The Milestones School, Wooden Spoon and various local sports organisations will lead to a real change in the sporting opportunities for the disabled children and people of the Gloucestershire community.

It has been our privilege to help get families into their homes. Now it is our mission to help families get out of them, and into a community that offers first class sporting facilities regardless of age or disability.

Many thanks.

Julian Jenkins (Managing Partner)
and the Dee & Griffin staff.

We are proud to work with The Chamwell Centre as our charity of the year. We believe this centre of excellence, built within The Milestone School, will have a tremendous impact on the lives of disabled children and adults across Gloucestershire. The school has 300 children aged 2-16, from all parts of Gloucestershire.

The majority of the pupils have severe learning disability or autism, and many face the additional challenges of severe and complex medical conditions and physical disabilities. The state-of-the-art centre will provide a large hydrotherapy pool with exciting therapy and sensory equipment, facilities for physical therapies, rebound therapy and soft play, as well as an all-ability play and sports area.

We also take the opportunity to support sporting events, functions and fundraisers to keep the connection going with our chosen charities throughout the year.

Although The Chamwell Centre is our charity of the year we are also proud to help the following local charities achieve their goals:

Wooden Spoon is the rugby charity for disabled and disadvantaged children. The money raised in Gloucestershire goes towards Gloucestershire projects. Recently the charity funded a sensory room at The Shrubberies School in Stonehouse.

Wooden Spoon events we support include:

➢ Cheltenham Race Day in March

➢ Cheltenham Cricket Festival Day in July

➢ The Cider & 7s Festival at Longlevens Rugby Club in July

➢ The Wooden Spoon Annual Dinner at Kingsholm in November
