Conveyancing Assistant: Hucclecote

The successful candidate would be responsible for supporting the office team leader with a varied caseload of property matters, working with clients and support staff, dealing with mainly residential conveyancing matters from instruction to post-completion, whilst providing the highest levels of customer service.

The candidate will also need to have the skills and confidence to dealing with a high volume of conveyancing cases, with an ability to self-manage and motivate, using their initiative. On the occasions when the Team Leader is absent from the office, the candidate would need the appropriate skills to manage the support team in their absence.

Other skills/ability requirements to include:

  • Enabling the office team leader to operate at the optimum efficiency and providing support to assist the running of the department along with support staff
  • Experience of both freehold and leasehold matters, including exchanging contracts and reporting to client on contract papers.
  • Dealing with telephone calls/emails to clients, estate agents, solicitors etc.
  • Use of the firm’s online conveyancing platform and case management systems.

Previous conveyancing experience essential and a law degree/or equivalent qualification preferred.

Legal Cashier Part time / Job share: Hucclecote

REPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily Bank Reconciliation for client and office accounts
  • Processing payments and receipts using online banking, cheques and debit cards
  • Posting entries onto the Practice Management System for client and office accounts
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices on the accounts system
  • Checking of completion statements and dealing with queries from fee earners and staff
  • Dealing with Solicitors Account Rules Compliance
  • Dealing with petty cash
  • Working closely with the Compliance Manager to ensure all accounts processes are compliant with the SRA Accounts Rules
  • Preparing management reports from the accounts system
